Silver Eagle Mic to a Uniden Madison. No audio?

I wired an Astatic Silver Eagle Mic to a fourth generation Madison, the one with the digital clock and 8719 PLL as follows. There is no audio! I checked to make sure there is no short and didn't find any. Where do I go from here? Did i wire it correctly?

Pin #2 ~ Shield

It was wired correctly!!! The switch was just far enough out of adjustment that it was not completely un keying enough to open the receive circut. Kirk
