Since Toshiba has discontinued the 2879 transistors........

Isn't it a bad idea to buy a new amp with those transistors in it?
I wonder how many Toshiba 2879s RF parts is sitting on right now.
I have a stash of 8 Toshibas that I bought years ago in case I need them but I don't think I would ever invest in a new or used amp that is using discontinued parts.

it's something to consider, but how long have those transistors been sitting on the shelf?
how many have you blown in those years, or years previously?
if you buy one, and treat it right, you would likely get your moneys worth.
