Small Tube Amp

Beware, just like all the other sweep tubes the Russian EL-509 used in those amps is no longer in production and sell for over $80 a piece today. To add to the confusion, another tube was recently developed for audio use with no anode cap for RF use and it also carries the old EL-509 part number.

what band(s)?
what mode(s)
grid driven or grounded grid?

how much input power is available?

any other issues? mobile, marine, airborne, etc ??

Unless it's coming from a top notch builder I'd skip most tetrode amps. Too many extra areas the builder could easily make mistakes in when compared to a grounded grid triode. Anything from the "I don't need to neutralize a high gain tetrode" to "who needs a shunt regulator on the screen grid" mentality quickly compromises the reliability and stability of many tetrode amps.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
