[Solved] Which crystal and where to buy to get Channel 36 and 37 on a Midland 13-893?

Happy to report that 22pF worked. The higher values was actually sending it passed clockwise worse than before, so managed to try half of 40. and its now happy. :) You can tell the 4 crystals it mixes with have aged and have moved away from their frequency, so each 4 channels it moves the clarifier an hour left or back close to the middle. That is ok. I barely learned today that all Cobra 138A, Cobra 139 23 channels are already "unlocked" from the factory. Same goes with the Midland 13-893 and the likes of.

Thanks again and it was fun making it work.

Now debating if I put that crystal in the Midland 13-893 mobile radio or if I put it in my Cobra 139 base radio. :)
I am kind of partial to the Midland, I used to run a 13-895 in my pickup, and take it in at night as my base station, built in power supply.
That 23 channel radio got me hooked on SSB and I gave up being a AM junkie after that.....

I have about 5 more caps to do on that 13-893. What it is doing is that when you are in SSB either USB or LSB the RF meter goes up about half way. You can still hear some stronger stations coming in, but I also noticed the RF power lacking on LSB but then USB it is fine. I will have to save that one for another thread. Without the proper equipment I think I will have to get it sent to someone someday.

Did you ever do anything to your 13-895 like adding extra crystals for other frequencies?
