SOMEONE TO REPAIR AN ECHOMAX 2000


how do you know the element is fine if you have to scream into it?did you check the battery connection?its either the battery,the element ,or the amp itself.unless the mic end is messed up?

.........I have one that had the same problem plus alot of digital noise. After not finding anything on the net, I removed the board and found cracked/broken solder joints at the volume slide control. After re-soldering them, the mic works like a new one. I wished I'd seen this thread much sooner..........let me know how it goes. 73s, Pluto.
 
Maybe try some contact cleaner on the switches and such inside. Mine was acting goofy and cleaned it really good and put a alkaline battery in it, then it is good to go. By the way. A battery with 9 volts of power was not enough to run the roger beeps. It wants more. Good luck with it.
