Anyone have some stereo speaker cabinet building books they want to sell? I want to build some cabinets for my van. Not only instructions on cabinets but especially how to do the carpet covering on them.

Thanks to the fellas in chat the other night that helped me with questions on the subject.

Check the Parts Express or Crutchfields sites something sticks in my mind that one of these may have had some pdf. files on this subject.

RR,

What exactly did you need to know about it?

Crutchfield has a polyester/nylon blend that I have used and it works good, durable and pretty easy to work with. 3M makes a art and hobby adhesive in a spray can that I also use to adhere it to the box. You can pick it up at an arts&craft supply store or most wal-marts. If you need to know anyhting else catch me in the chatroom or kpritchard@yahoo.com.

Thanks moose and Edu.

I can get all the materials, just wanted a picture book for doing the coverings. The store bought speaker cabinets look so good, I'd like to be able to make one that looks that way.

As far as the speaker cab design, guess I just need some formulas and building tips. I'm pretty good with wood (not great), but tips and pics are good.

Crutchfield How To Books

These cover box design and volumes and touch on coverings. The carpet isn't hard at all, you cover large areas first with seamless pieces and for the woofer openings you cut them about and inch smaller than the hole so you can wrap it around the insides. Just take your time it looks better and it is hard to fix mistakes once the adhesive dries. So , have fun and don't glue your fingers together cause it is really embarrasing when you have to explain it to the 20 yr old RN at the ER! <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/happy.gif ALT=":D">

The team will attempt to move the equipment and supplies onto the island using the zodiac then. They have two zodiacs. They are hoping to accomplish it in those two days.
