Many digital oscilloscopes can act like spectrum analyzers using FFT, but today was the first time I used the SA as an oscilloscope. I have a remote controlled outlet and I am considering making another transmitter, so I wanted to know what the signals looked like. The remote is 315MHz, my scope BW is about 240MHz. Here is how that turned out.
Remembering that my spectrum analyzer had a zero span feature (plots amplitude over time). That worked a lot better!
That was the on signal for my desk light. The off signal is almost exactly the same, only one little difference at the end.
Just thought that was neat and wanted to share. A terminated BNC-alligator clip cable as an antenna.
