Hello
I have a AOR SDU-5500 Spectrum Display Unit that I purchased many years ago. It's OK to use but I was wondering if there is software with similar bandwidth (10 MHz bandwidth between 10 kHz and 2600 MHz) and capabilities available to use in its place. I was just thinking that in the past 20 years surely something came along to run on a PC that does the same thing but doesn't take up space.

thanks

Sdrplay with sdruno. They have a spectrum analyzer plug in that works awesome. I use it to check out radios, works like a charm.

Looks like what I'm looking for. So if I understand it correctly you can use it to control other receivers via the Omnirig server and also use the spec' an' function?????

I dont know, sorry. There are youtube videos on it. Also google it and the software will pop up for more info.

How did it go?

I watched the YT vids and it looks useful. Cost is reasonable.
Problem is, I've never used a real Spectrum Analyzer, so I have no experience to compare it to. Is it possible to use to view harmonic output from the freq of interest? For amps it would need a large attenuator but that's do-able.
I'm looking at HackRF.
