Base SPT-500

I fixed ALL issues with loose fitting tubes, rotting screws, open circuits, cracks where its swaged, bent & snapped sections,

I don't use shitty made aluminum antennas anymore,
if its not .058" wall cold drawn 6061-t6 or in an emergency .058" wall 6061-t832 its not going up.

Even the gain-master tubes fit like a turd in a pisspot & benefit from a wrap of tape to take up the slack,
it helps to stop you cracking the cheap unidirectional loose fit tube with hose clamps trying to squash tube that has very low crush resistance.

You can't expect an antenna with loose fitting tubes like that to last.

Why, we’re all of us awaiting yours as welded up from some Schedule 40.

Instead, we should commandeer a de-commissioned windmill tower after blades & genset gone.

Just run some coax up the staircase and hang a loop out the top.

Call it BLM (Blades Lost Momentum) and collect a couple mil from a corporate sponsor.

The Voice of Nebraska

We can retire . . . sit atop the ridge with a surplus diesel genset and drink cold ones all day, every day, till the cows go home.

That days’ Designated Driver rolls the rest of us on down the hill after they’ve trailed past.

Even have the scores from which to take those several seconds of music to announce station breaks (with which to re-charge the aquifer zone above the stock tank).

Keep all & sundry going past on Interstate 80 entertained with discussions of High Plains cloud formations winter or summer. Lenticular or towering cumulonimbus. (Someone’s gonna have to read that fat book).

And stay tuned folks. Next week noted stargazer Riverman is our guest on secret CB Radio star constellations.”

I got dibs on the Fairbury Fred character.

(Hell, this whole riff just writes itself)

When the standard fare of clouds again drifts away, it’s back to frontier carpentry. Problem-solving using the wrong tools and no supplies to repair the line shack.

There’ll be no parking left on the ranch road, them drivers crowding in and wanting to lend a dab hand.

Downshift and downshift to make that 15-mph turn onto the gravelled road with the harmonica & guitar opening from, Leaving Cheyenne, to accompany that difficult maneuver in every future.

The peace that awaits us all.
