do the radials radiate on a super penetrator?
Trying to figure out the operation with the shorting rod connecting to the radio plate and the bottom of the antenna. thanks!
 

in a word ....no.... although there is some minor "phase difference" type radiation from the radials , it is a calculated value only and you won't be able to see it without sophisticated far field measuring equipment.

The radials provide a low loss return path.
