stacked halo, non conductive boom vs conductive boom

I am wondering what issues would arise from using a conductive boom on a quad stacked halo antenna vs a non conductive boom.

As I am planning a 4 stack, PVC might not be the best choice for a boom (nearly 13 ft long)

It could result in the 'stack' becoming directional. The most common way around that is by mounting the antennas 'around' the mast rather than all on one side. With 4 antennas that would mean every 90 degrees. Like the antennas on a typical repeater or TV station. If it would have some benefit, you can make that 'stack' directional too, but that sort of defeats the purpose (depending on your purpose).
