Steve Jobs was 56 years old. Rest in peace, Steve.

The release from the company below:

Statement by Apple’s Board of Directors

CUPERTINO, Calif. — We are deeply saddened to announce that Steve Jobs passed away today.

Steve’s brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives. The world is immeasurably better because of Steve.

His greatest love was for his wife, Laurene, and his family. Our hearts go out to them and to all who were touched by his extraordinary gifts.

Apple computers is less than 2 miles away from where I live here. I think I remember Steve was in local rock bands in the area, as I was too at that time (back in High School days, I think he went to Monte Vista HS and I went to Mitty HS). Think I remember buying a guitar speaker cabinet from him/Woz when I was 17 or so.

The OTHER news - here from Cupertino (aka 'Silicon Valley') - is that a gunman that has killed three people and wounded four others is STILL AT LARGE less than 2 miles from my QTH.

Night is falling and I suspect he will be on the move.

Never liked Apple. Or anything with "I" in its name. Although, you gotta admit clever marketing for the stupid people.

Dude was sick for a long long time.

Steve doesn't have to fight and struggle every single day anymore.

I guess Bill wins another one.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
