My Cobra 2000 has a hot ground? If I put a volt meter from the spring of the D-104(- side of the volt meter) to the case of the radio there is 13.92+ volts?Does not matter if its on ac or a dc power supply. Its not the mic because I tested it with a my Grant Xl.If you get it close to any coax connector or case area's it will arc?I have been changing out caps one by one to see if I have any shorted ones.Any ideas?

I would start with the caps in the power supply. Start at the a/c input and work your way through to the final dc. I would guess it would be one on the a/c line if it's arcing.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
