Good evening all
I have recently bought a Stryker 94hpc for my personal vehicle. I have owned one before never had this issue. I have a bearcat bc15 amplified external speaker and tonight when I was relocating where I want the speaker I noticed now I have a squeal when keying to TX. No matter where I put it in the vehicle it does it. Before I tried moving it I had it within few inches of the radio by my shifter in car. Wasn’t an issue there. I moved it tonight away from the radio and have it sitting on the edge of passenger seat facing my ear. Now I have a squeal when key up. I’ve read a couple things like make sure the wire isn’t touching the coax which I haven’t tried that yet Bc I didn’t know if that was legit. Also didn’t know if it was it was an amplified speaker ? But hasn’t always been an issue. When I unplug speaker from radio I don’t hear it. This digital radio doesn’t have talkback. The speaker doesn’t say in description that it has talk back either so makes me wonder why the speaker is having talk back feedback now ? I run a magnetic mount nmo style antenna setup on trunk which antenna is about centered on trunk. Any suggestions are appreciated.
thanks

This radio is susceptible to RFI coming back into the audio amplifier through the external speaker wire. It requires at least a ferrite bead at the speaker plug and sometimes a .01 bypass cap too. It will do this even with just a normal unamplified external speaker.

Palomar Engineers ferrite on mic cord helped me with same problem.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
