Stryker Modification

Hello all. I want to know if it would be possible to add usb/lsb to a Stryker 497 hp. I like the big round meter and the general look of this radio and if my enquiry is at all possible. Is conversion to 11 meters possible too?
I know about the Stryker 955 but its just too square looking and it don't interest me at all.
Would it mean a lot of reconstructive moving parts about, or would it be fairly straightforward for a radio tech to convert?

It's your responsibility to find out if it's compatible with your radio or not.

TM86 Thanks for taking the trouble to post the information I am looking for. Will give both these answers due investigation and consideration.

As a general rule the answer is NO, you cannot just do a simple mod to a Stryker 497 or any AM/FM radio that adds SSB. I'm sure a smart tech could figure something out to make it work but the labor cost on that would be super expensive.

You could fill empty places on mainboard to add SSB, but it need a lot of work and experience.

Sell the orginal radio, buy a Stryker 955, done.

If you can find a Magnum S-9 it has the same round meter and looks very similar. It has SSB.
