I have a Stryker SR-A10 MM Magnetic Mount Antenna. I can't get SWR under 5.6. Cable looks OK. Thinking it might have moisture inside. Anyone had one of these apart?

Don't know if it's worth trying to look inside. wonder if it's overly difficult to tear into.

Not yet, with all the Allen looking bolts on it, it looks like it's designed to come apart easily. I haven't studied it up close yet. I just have a feeling it's sealed up good. It worked great last time I used it. Just been sitting in garage for a few years.

I have a habit of becoming impatient, then tearing it up out of spite, which is why I'm curious if anyone else has been successful.

Looks easy enough. Gonna tear into it and see what's going on. It worked fine last time before I put it away. Either something in the coil or coax.

Thanks for the video. Very appreciated.

You're welcome. I've heard something about the solder joint breaking away from the coil on these.

The cable looks pristine. I'm thinking it's definitely something inside. I need it working. It was only mounted for a few weeks. Worked fine, so whatever is wrong with it happened during storage.

As I said, I've seen reports of a solder Joint breaking on the end of the coil. You've got to take that outer case off and look at the way the coil is mounted

Took it apart. All connection points look good. No obvious signs of corrosion or moisture. I did notice the top gasket and o-ring were dry, cracked and crinkled up from assembly. That might have let some water in. IDK. Probably buy another one and cut the stinger on my old one and use the mount on a second vehicle.
