.24 hr Summary...
Solar activity reached high levels today as Region 2838 (N24, L=099) an
X1/Sn (R3-Strong) flare at 03/1429 UTC. Associated with this event was
weak, lower frequency radio emissions including a Type II sweep with an
estimated shock velocity of 357 km/s. The region also produced a pair of
M1/Sf (R1-Minor) flares at 03/1703 UTC and 04/0509 UTC, respectively.
Each of the events produced CMEs off the W limb that are no expected to
affect Earth. The region has completely rotated around the W limb and is
no longer visible.

but yesterday on 2 meter simplex i heard voices from far. they were waving in n out but over 150 miles. st louis on east side n im on west side. actually spoke to that operator but he faded as i was trying to get his call sign. he was talking to somebody n stopped for a few n i jumped in
