There used to be a website of a guy who used to sell those all restored and other antennas from the past but I can seem to find it. Just thinking maybe he had some parts but I can’t find my old links to it
Hello All: That base part looks to me to be reusable, it can be cleaned up and the holes taped, its not pretty tho. You can have a machinist make one from Aluminum but will be expensive but doable. The Top Hat can be made from Aluminum solid 1/8" round material or thin steel wires. It may not look pretty or get you invited to the Paris Airshow but will work.

Not to be rude but this antenna hasnt been produced almost as long as ive been alive lol! What youre looking for is a dinosaur egg. If youre looking for new or close to new I would set a search on ebunk as AS antennas come up for sale fairly often and with a worldwide search you might get lucky. Seems this was the weak link in the antenna and the reason the part is hard to find now. Restoring old gear is challenging to say the least. Ill keep an eye out and if I see anything ill let you know.
That’s what I am planing on. I bought 1 feet of solid aluminum rod” 2” diameter. I will see how can machine that part. Don’t know what is the proper place to go, a machine shop or a lathe shop. I have the exact measurements. Should not be difficult lathe or machine it. I I wonder how expensive can be.
Original part is cast aluminum. The rod I bought is solid aluminum.
Alexis, besides this hub at the bottom, what is above this hub, inside the red cover? What are the two holes for? What does the wire at the top go to?

the red wire is part of the coil which goes around the red phenolic tube. The two holes are for steel pins to fix the tube to the aluminum part.

Tokin, I could find a ham who is a retired machinist (rare combination) who could make my dinosaur egg. He machined the part I was needing. Here is the result.
Hello AM: Wow Iam impressed good going machining a new base piece, looks great.
I would suggest that the outer piece that holds it all to gather be Fiberglass Tubing with thick wall, and not the plastic pipe stuff. As the Fiberglass Tubing is made for much more stress and such. Now with new internal parts all pretty and shinny you want to make sure the stress point at the base is much stronger and will last for years and years. The Fiberglass will need to painted tho, to keep it from deuterating. No big deal tho. Local radio fans will drive by the house and take pictures thinking you have some sort of secret antenna advantage. I use bright Blue as it shows up real good on the photos. See:

A local friend wants me to make him a 8 Element Moonraker, he didn't even blink at the quoted price of new machined Hubs, and larger Boom and mounting Bracket. Again all doable but very expensive. Good luck on your project there, please let us know how it all works out for you.

Hello AM: I don't have a clue what the cost was, from experience I have paid $175.oo for a set up fee, then get to pay for the material, then the labor. Some Aluminum brackets, adapters, mounting plates, Hubs, and all such needed do-dads.
Made a bunch of Billet Aluminum Hubs for rebuilding Moonraker Beam Antennas, to be used on a larger 2 inch Boom, instead of the 1 5/8 inch thin walled Boom, to bullet proof it. Do tell.

Labor was just $ 60.00, I paid him $ 80.00 because of the quality of the machined part.
