Superstar 3900 meter not working

The radio works fine in all modes of operation, but the meter doesn't work at all, neither transmit or receive.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Might be the meter itself, the IC that controls it (IC 1), a transitor, or a diode in that circuit.

Thanks Rob,

I'm not sure I'm tech savvy enough to do this myself. I guess being as it's working ok other than that, I'll wait till I can find a shop to fix it. Not sure of any in my area.

How old is that radio, did you buy it new or used? If it's still in warrantee, send the thing back. If you bought it used, you just found out why that's not always a good idea. Sorry 'bout that.

I've had the radio since the mid 80's and haven't used it since the 91 or so. I bought it new, but it's been a long time.
