Alright I've done some mods to the above radio, and I'm not pleased with the output. I've done plenty of NPC-RC mods to other ept chassis radios with awesome results. I've never done an ept with ssb though. I was thinking that the mods would be the same, but I guess not. I found a webpage about some 3900 tune ups, and it seems his output isn't what you'd see from an AM only radio as well. What should you expect to see from a p&t, and can the npc-rc mod be done to a sideband ept chassis? I was hoping to make this radio as much as a talker as my Connex 3300 was.

    Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
