After rigging up my radio a couple of different ways to get more power, I found a flaw in the slaw and don't know which is correct. After purchasing this mod, the instruction here says to put the modulator (2nd item from right) the negative leg to the rear of the radio BUT this other guy says on his forum to put the negative leg away from the final. Which is it? I believe the guy in the forum more because I tried it the other way and it doesn't seem to work so his way must be correct. I am installing this on a Cobra 29 LTD.

Here's the links:

Who's correct??

I think he just made an error in what he was trying to say 101 ...I've never known the negative side of the cap not to go towards the final.......the neg side goes towards the final.

Thanks alot Switch Kit. I just wanted to clarify that before I get exploring that radio again. I guess I should change my name to 101 instead of Mudbug, Switch Kit, you are the one that come up with that. I don't mind that though. I am glad that all of you are helping me, that is the main thing.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
