swr/watt meters

I purchases that new Daiwa 801HP
Nice meter, easy to see without my reading glasses.

Meters are all relative. Even if a meter is 5-25% off, as long as it is consistant, that will work. You use Bird, Drake, or Swan meters when you go to buy a radio or amp, use a Dosy meter when you want to sell a radio or amp!
I get a kick out of someone checking a Texas Star 250 on a Dosy meter using the 2000 watt acale.......meters are calibrated at full scale so 175 to 250 peak watts being checked on a 2000 watt acale should be a good bit off.
I personally like good cross needle wattmeters.
The Autek WM-1 is a nice meter but customer service is the worst.

The Daiwa CN-801HP is a decent PEP meter that is good to 2 Kw.

My vote also goes for Daiwa, I have had a few "cb" power meter burn up on me and take out my amp.

Daiwa has the best quality for the price and they reads really close to a bird meter! It even gives you a accurate reading with high SWR/Reflect unlike a Dosy that will read false numbers!
