I'm saying I don't use those Talkabout radios for FRS. I just use a 2m/440 HT that's been modified and I turn the power down to keep it within the power limits. I mean how many radios does the FCC expect me to carry around????

I hear that the yaesu VX5 HT`s works well on those frequencys........

Moleculo,ah i see The only reason i bring it up is i found a motorola talkabout 250 on the road that has been run over and LED was damaged.It powers on but NO LED screen .
I'm not really interested in the radio as i already have two amateur HT's but thought if anyone else could use radio for parts or whatever i would ship free usps.
