What happens if I put a two foot riser between the mount and the tarheel effectively raising the coil section to a mid load placement vs the bottom load that it is when you install it on a standard mount? The feed point would remain the same but if I go with a 2’ stainless rod it would move the loading section over the cab. I know I’d have to adjust the stinger length but it would improve the radiation pattern would it not?

Is the cab sheet metal? If so, getting that load coil above the cab will help a bit - especially with the tuning. Remember, with a well designed coil loaded antenna, the current is at its maximum and is fairly constant from the feed point through the end of the coil. If you have a big piece of sheet metal very near the coil, it is going to create capacitance in ways that you probably don't want.
