Has anyone on the forum been around long enough to remember when this radio was sold new, did it come from the factory with the extras, was the packaging, user manual, radio faceplate etc embossed with FM, Hi/Lo etc etc?

Or was this all done later as an aftermarket thing by dealers or retailers?

Maybe you bought one.

Thanks & 73's

Back then they were called "export" radios, since the only legal way to sell one was to ship it outside the USA and the FCC's territory. The features that were not USA-legal were okay in other countries.

Wasn't legal to sell in the states, but they got smuggled in anyway.

Pretty sure that radio will date to the mid-1980s or so.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
