Picked this up cheap, but after turning it on, the trace faded. All the tubes appear to be lit and no smoke.

1) Is it worth getting fixed?

2) What is it worth? It has a dual trace module installed.

    Is it possible to be on a lake and have a homing directional beam being emitted from the shore so a person could navigate to that beam's source? For example at night to a jetty.
