I'm kind of fed up looking for decent techs to ship my radios too. The more I educate myself the more I realize that all I seem to find here locally are of the 'golden screwdriver types'.

So , I choose the path of doing it myself. If it is going to be messed up I'll have no one to blame but myself. (I'll still blame the equipment :D)

My questions are if you had to buy the equipment below new at an entry level what would you get? Or, if used what would you search for on fleabay?

Also, I see where a couple sites recommend a VTVM. Is it still necessary or will a good DMM do? :confused1: I had a Simpson but was told I didn't need it anymore for what I do so I sold it. I have a Fluke 179 that gets certified once a year now.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
