Texas Ranger 696 (Galaxy 959 board) carrier on SSB no carrier on AM

Good Day Everyone!!
It's been a while.
I have on the bench a TR 696 that was hacked in it's past. I did get the L3 coil from Enterprise312ok (he is the man!!). Now onto an alignment. The oscillator alignment goes fine but the XMIT alignment is messed up. It throws a carrier on SSB and has no carrier on AM. I did find that some parts were missing such as C218 and R199. I did find a post somewhere that showed these parts taken out for a power mod. I replaced those parts and verified that the correct part (not value) was installed.

Any ideas here?

I think I had a similar problem with my ranger freedom sometime back. Seems to come to mind that although the 959 and the 696 radio chassis is the same, some of the alignment values were different between the 2 radios. I wish my memory served me a little better to point to a specific, but I did get it straightened out once I had the correct align procedure.

Carrier for USB should be 10.6925. LSB is 10.6975. I'd be looking for a shorted diode leading away from the mode selector switch.
