Texas Star 350 HDV PRE AMP Not Working

first thing to check is Q2, the receive pre-amp transistor.
use this diagram to find it:

it is a 2N4125 transistor, or you can use an NTE159.
here is a schematic:

if Q2 checks ok, try D2. if thats not it, move on to the components around those two parts.
