Texas star dx 500v

On my Madison the audio is to tinny with a D104, I switched to a Turner Super Sidekick and that works well. The Uniden/President Madison is such a great old school radio. A DX 500v is perfect for that Madison I bet, nice.
My Madison has the Gold Finger wide audio mods done to it, and the D104 has an aftermarket mic amp in it that frees up a lot of bottom end. The radio was originally set up for rack gear, but is on a different radio now. You are right that a stock Madison and stock D104 are not a good match. I believe the Texas Star amps have more bias than a comp box, at least the ones I have.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
