The Basics

Licensing in Canada is so much easier. Basic or Basic +(with honours), Advanced and Morse Code(which you don't need anymore although still a good idea). Basic and Basic + are the same except if you get 80% or better on the exam you have access to the HF bands but limited to 100 watts. To pass basic you need 70%, an extra 10% to have HF. Like I said much simpler.:w00t:

Actually Basic in Canada gives you 560 watts PEP on ssb type emissions and 190 watts on all other types. 10.1 RBR-4 (RIC-2 formerly)

Oops, brain fart. That's what happens when I go from memory.

Don't feel bad my memory wasn't that good I just thought it was more than 100 watts but I couldn't remember what it was so I had to look it up too.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
