This week our quiet sun came alive, and the visible solar disc now is crowded with sunspots. On Monday, May 11, the SESC daily sunspot number rose to 188. That is the highest sunspot number since January 30, when it was 193. We have to go back to November 17, 2013, to find a higher sunspot number.
