I was involved on eleven meters from 1973 through 1990, and even though I owned a lot of radios back then, there were some I never got to hear or use. A few of them I’ve always been curious about—how they actually performed in the real world. One of those is the Motorola Mocat series. I know and own several Motorola radios and use them on the ham bands, but I’ve never had a Motorola CB. How good—or bad—were they?

I have a Motorola SSB mobile. I would rather have a Uniden, Hitachi or Cybernet. Overengineered, cheesy, kind of a pain to work on, like most things Motorola. Nothing great about them.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
