does the clarifiar setting effect the TX frequency in stock from on these radios?

when I adjust the clarifiar to pull in a slightly off freq station, is it changing my tx freq to meet them?

also, when in AM mode, I can adjust the clarifiar and the audio on teh RX gets louder, and the S meter can change alot when someone is talking, does that mean they are slightly off freq?

I have always thought the clarifiar didnt change the tx freq, but here lately im wondering!

thanks!

The Magnum 257 and its clones come from the factory with the clarifier mod done. The TX and RX both are adjusted when you turn the CLAR knob.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/smile.gif ALT=":)">

I stand corrected. I've had 3 of these radios (Magnum 257, Comanche Blackhawk, and the RSPY-485) and they all to me with the TX opened up. My apoligies.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
