I know lot of new ham listen to K9KAO like I am. I stop listen to local repeaters and heavy in listen to websdr.org. You don't need a radio to listen and learn .I have type this info just to pass on.
Before you do any thing is make sure sound card mixer is working on computer. This make it easy to use software with no problems.
Tonight someone was talking about the ISS. The sdr show the freq shift. Learn how the iss act before waste time.
I had one shot to talk to ISS but I was too new ham. (145800 voice.) So I just read the packets now.
websdr.org 2meter sdr at 145.825. Use the EU sdr do to so many.
