i have a 29 ltd classic that someone gave me that has D11 cut AND TR 18 cut out.
after some research i found out that people claim removing TR 18 further boosts the audio. i would never do this. and the radio has a bad sound to it. (go figure), does anyone know if just resoldering D11 back together would do anything even with TR 18 still gone? Thanks for any info.

TR18 is the audio shunt transistor for the AMC circuit. It must be in there for the modulation limiter to work. TR18 is a 2SA733 or equivalent. You can use a 1N914 diode (available at Radio Shack) as a replacement for D11.
