Hey guys:

Ever see a variable power mod for the Texas Ranger TR-696FD-1? I bought a dual final mod kit with the IRF520N's. Each MOSFET is rated at 48 watts; so I want to be able to turn it down a few notches and not push them too hard.
Anyone else ever done this mod?

I found this kit on eBay:

I also bought the IRF520's on eBay too:

Not sure what resistor value for bias is right for maimum swing - anybody use these?

Additionally, I bought a super recieve kit for it, with the Shottky diodes for a cleaner, more accurate recieve:

Put it in today - works really well.

All I need now is the mod for the variable power adjust - anyone know a good link???
Any info is greatly appreciated!!!

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
