A local has a stash of these, sent me one to look at. He is fond of them. Cbtricks wasn't very helpful this time. I did find a schematic. It looks simple for a dual conversion, but not like anything else I have seen. Is this chassis shared with a more detailed rig, particularly alignment info?

This unit was not operational. No rx. The audio chip was getting hot (kia7217pa) due to pin 10 being shorted, I first checked for shorted caps on the output, but no, the chip itself was shorted. I found one kicking around my scrap pile and put it in, seems to work now. The audio is kinda distorted so I might have to recap the whole thing for good measure. Fortunately this rig is cap sparse, count approx 20+ with a quick glance. Given the age, I expect this.
Edit: found some tune up info on the secret cb vol 25. Not service manual alignment info but a step in the right direction.

Edit: that secret cb info is for a different radio using a different pll and crystals. This unit uses the mc145106p like many older Galaxy/ss units, and as such, does not match what the pub suggests. Onward I go.
