Truck stop CB SWR meter works for 2m SWR? REALLY?

Can it work? Yes, but there's no guarantee of accuracy at all.

(Not that there's much guarantee of accuracy with any meter.)

I've used a few different CB SWR meters that worked fairly well in the 2m range. Are they perfect? No, but they worked well enough to determine if the antenna was safe to TX on.

i did, you can turn almost any vswr meter round like that, it means you use the same detector diode for fwd and rev like flipping the slug on a bird.

Exactly. I read the link as well and I also thought it was the same principal as flipping a sampling slug. It avoids any discrepancies between two different strip lines. Try using a CB power meter on 2m sometime and see what happens. It will make a Dosy meter proud.

I am not a fan of the truck stop meters to begin with....

I read the link ....found it interesting though....it would work in a pinch if needed, but I would get a hold of a vhf/uhf meter asap to double check with

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
