Add 15kOhm resistor in series with R108 (lead-end) & R109 (body-end) on the IF Unit (X48-13707-00)...

Unscrew the 7 screws from the IF PCB, don't forget the 2 screws in the h/sink. I installed the resistor to the foil side of the PCB between the aforementioned resistors. Extra care to be taken when screwing PCB back down & also when re-fitting covers as not to pinch any cables...

Best to check mod b4 installing covers etc again.

PS. If you want it switched between SLOW(normal) & FAST (modded), i noticed there is a hole on the rear left of the 430s that would accomodate a switch nicely but removal of the rear-end would be necessary...

Now your TS-430s will perform more like a later model Kenwood...

All mods done "At your own risk", i will not be held liable for any errors or damage to transceiver...

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
