Turner 454x weak audio?

I picked this mic up for a dollar and it has weak audio any ideas.

Quick question. What radio are you using it on ? That is a Hi-Z impedance (50k) mic. Newer radios use Low-Z (600 ohm).

It is an un-amplified crystal mic ... I venture a guess is the crystal is weak.

I am using it on a galaxy 2547 my guess is it won't work on that radio

Yes, it is not the correct impedance.

I took a cobra hand mic apart and took the guts out of it and put in it. Just got a report saying it sounds great. How I managed to patch it together and make it sound good i will never know.
