Hi

How to remove button peep what is to be heard on the speaker when i push etc: channel up/down , scan, span buttons.
(Uniden 2830 is same as President Lincoln)

Best bet is to get in touch with Rogerbird, he is a master with Uniden 2510's. He would be able to steer you in the right direction.

hi i tried something the same with a president johnny 2 Auto Squelch Control. the channel beep was really loud and long and it took forever to scan through its 120 channels i looked up the service manual and found one line labelled beep and i desoldered a resistor on that trace. the only problem with that is the microprocessor mutes the audio with the rxmut trace while the tone plays so i suppose it doesn't sound garbled. i desoldered that too but i lost both squelches so i put it back in. i reckon thats because the auto squelch level is calculated in the microprocessor. channel beeps seem to be ubiquitous in modern serial programmable pll's i even saw a tti 880 that had the channel beep turned off in software and it still muted the audio for the length of the beep. so long.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
