I have decided after reading everything I could, I want a Grant. What is the difference between the XL and LT, other than the mic plug location?

Uniden Grant XL or LT What's the Difference?

Grant LT is the latest model has back lit controls and is the last version built,,,,XL is the earlier model and looks more like the older 148's. I have both and they prform equally. I like the looks of the LT better, but thats me.
The XL was made pretty much without any surface-mount technology. That, and Uniden published a service manual for it.
The LT was a re-design of the XL, using some surface-mount parts, and with the physical locations of many parts moved around. Uniden NEVER printed service data for the LT. Kinda makes the LT the "disposable" version of the XL, if it breaks. And if it doesn't break, it's more or less the same radio as the XL, UNTIL you have to maintain it.
