We are having problems with our PC78ltw at work. The radio seems to have no volume control. You can turn the radio on and keep the volume knob all the way down, but when a signal comes in it about blows your ear drums out.

Any suggestions for fixing it?

Interesting problem, in the past I have found some metal swarf floating around inside a front panel control of a radio, it is possible that there is something inside it shorting it out, have you opened it up yet to check for damaged wires ?

Another possible cause is that there are some components on the circuit board that are touching each other, shorting out, I have seen this as well.

Can you tell me the radios PLL and PCB numbers, I will see if i have a daigram for it to see if I can provide more specific information.
