Uniden Washington TX Output????????????

Good day folks.

When I TX my Washington it will DK at 4 watts AM but backswing when modulated. Also the SSB power will not peak past 6 watts. I have tried the VR tweaking for both AM + SSB but it dosen't change much. Any ideas as to what to look for next?

either that, or someone tuned the TX coils with a deadkey instead of with a modulated carrier.

if that washington has the MB8719 chip in it, then turn the mic gain on the radio up, and tune these coils while saying "ahhh" into the mic for the max PEP wattage as indicated on your wattmeter.

L47, L48, L46, L45, L38.

DO NOT touch L36, even though it looks like L38, it does not increase power. turning it will only increase your TVI.

if this doesnt make sense to you, then have a tech do it.
