US WWDXers: Will you be getting a FM rig?

Will you try FM?

I can see a CB modification opening up to add FM to all these old AM only CBs, if somebody doesn't have it already. I already own too many old but good CBs.

Not sure just how easy to convert an AM only CB to FM is. I do know that the preferred rigs to convert to FM for use on 10m were SSB Cybernet chassis units. They were quite easy to convert. Note I did not say add FM but convert TO FM.

LM3089 FM Receiver (since discontinued) only needed one adjustable inductor (discriminator) silly simple.
Later there were a handful of two chip solutions you could use.
Most accepted a 10.7MHz input and actually had too much audio gain.
Transmit was via the usual (and nasty) placing a bit of audio on the otherwise named "clarifier" circuit or going through the bother of a proper clipper/limiter/processor before yanking on a varactor.
worst part of the install was finding somewhere to put the switch :)

Incoming Region Produces X3 Solar Flare
    May 15, 2024 @ 14:55 UTC
Another major solar flare, but this time from an active region just beginning to turn into view off the east limb. It is possible that the group responsible is old AR 3654 from the previous rotation. The latest flare, an X2.99 event just peaked at 14:38 UTC (May 15). Stay tuned
