Can't seem to find one on the net. Seems the only one that I've seen on the net is illegible. So, I thought I'd ask and see if there is one out there that can be downloaded here?

I looked around and all the old sites that use to have it are gone. Defpom has one but it is hard to read also. I will check my old DVD disk to see if by chance I have it saved some where.

take a look at this site and see if you can find a radio with the pc409 schematic. do not remember just what radio this came in. this is for the president line. on the left of the page there is other brands to look at.

    Thanks guys!

That worked out. Someone gave me a Uniden President Grant w/o any covers on the radio, so I have to find a stock set of covers somewhere too. Fortunately, they are much like the side mic 148, since this is also a 5 pin side mic radio as well and hopefully will be easy to locate.

But I have to unbugger the radio from channel mods and hacked front switches - first. The clarifier mod done to it still needs to be reworked as well.

Yeah, and while they look sharp, they are easily subject to rusting. Seen it a few times. Naw, just looking for some cheapo black covers in OK shape. Radio is coming along OK so far.

I think the covers are like the ones on a president Jackson. if so the regular radio covers will not fit. I had to contact about every radio shop in the Oklahoma city area to find a set of covers for my Jackson. the screw holes and the front of the covers are different.
good luck on finding the covers.

Sure hope that isn't the case - pardon the pun.
This is a regular President Grant - CB only - not an export version.

I had a PC-409 on the bench some time last year and I don't remember for sure, but I believe they are just like the 148 GTL lids.

Edit: I didn't have my Grant XL then, and don't remember if I attempted to put Galaxy DX lids on it, so they could be very well be different, thanks Sonoma.

Does anyone have a parts list for the PC-409? I could build a capacitor kit for it.

Klondike Mike, I could probably look over the schematic and attempt to build one from that.

Sorry I didn't record the cap list when I re-did that radio, as I probably stated I would.
My memory is terrible, and sometimes I lose motivation.
It took me a little while to re-cap as I didn't buy a kit for the 148, I just pieced everything together, one-by-one from various sources, and failed to document the total BOM. :(

if it has the 3 or 4 buttons on the front with a face like a Jackson may have the odd covers on it.do you have a radio there with the dx covers on it you could try. this way you will know for sure.

Now that you mention it.. the PC409 Grant radio I worked on had the buttons up front!
Whoops! I hope they aren't really odd lids.

Robb, the radio you have does it have a single or duel finals and does it have channels? they made so many different versions its hard to find the one you have with the PC409 board in it. I know they had one from President and one from Uniden with the grant name on them.
