Ok here are some varmint mobile amp pictures. According to the shop owner where I am countinuing the craft Abe Brewer told him he used the large output transformer because they are narrow banded and he didin't have to tune them as much with capacitors.View attachment 60126View attachment 60127View attachment 60128

Did anyone notice something is different about that one transistor driver stage? I only see one Broadband Transformer being used? I'm assuming that's on the collector of the driver transistor as the output matching device. What are they doing on the input? I really can't make it out well from the picture but I questioned if they're not using an LC tuned circuit? That could be another first, tuned narrow band input with Broadband output.

It's too blurry to make out. The only other one I have ever seen was in a small CB shop many years ago and I was surprised to see that one on e bay.
