I just got the email to ship my VX-8 in for the 60 buck upgrade to VX-8DR status. Has anybody had this done yet? If so, was it worth it?

I just got my email also, but haven't shipped it yet. The extra features ARE nice to have if you're a heavy APRS user.
 
I got my letter mid July and got my radio back the first part of August

I'm surprised it took so long for you guys to get your notices - I wonder if they're doing a lot of them?
 
I'm getting mine ready to ship, just the thought of it not having all the features possible tips me over the edge to pony up 60 bucks. May not be using APRS to the fullest yet but might decide I want to a month from now. :-)

    Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
