VX-8R operation in CD-41 charger

Do you guys know if it is OK/safe for the battery to leave the radio plugged into the CD-41 quick-charger while monitoring? How about using a BT microphone to transmit while the radio is plugged in?

Yes, its ok. The radio will draw from the battery though, not the charger.

Also, the charger will not charge the battery if the radio is on. I left mine on all night in the cradle and the battery was completely dead in the morning. The little green light was on though saying that the battery should have been charged.

There might be a 2-3hr timing circuit in there that stops charging. I imagine that it hit that marker, turned the green light on, and then just let the battery die.

Strange.

I monitor with my VX8R at work for up to 10 hours a day with the unit in the cradle charger. At the end of the day, the battery is fully charged.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
